Unity Convention 2010 - Next Steps

RonBrown made me aware of a post by the Friendly Atheist that chronicled Margaret Downey‘s call for a “Unity Convention in 2010.” His blog is weighing in on the pros and cons.

I decided to email Margaret to see what we can do to help pull this off, since I think a convention that unifies various atheists/non-theists/non-believers/whatever-we-call-ourselves would be a great idea.

Margaret responded that they need to know about potential funding sources – individuals and corporations.

So, put on your thinking caps and let me know who you think would fund a convention like this! I’ll compile results and forward them. The more detailed contact information you can provide, the better. It took me about an hour to find contact information for several foundations already, so if we all work together, we might just be able to pull this convention off!
