Here is a list of key dates for my transition from a corporate peon in the financial service industry to meaningful work as a change agent:

  1. July 14, 2007: My self-commitment to focus on building my life.
  2. May 19, 2008: First night of learning Greek folk dance (through Spring 2016). A list of dances celebrating my 5-year anniversary.
  3. August 24, 2009: Started school in philosophy at SF State and working part-time.
  4. December 18, 2009: Downsize #1 – from 3 BR flat to 1 BR inlaw.
  5. April 2, 2010: Quit my corporate job.
  6. November 20, 2010: Received my Permaculture Design Certificate.
  7. January 31, 2011: Started life design guidance
  8. Summer 2011: Attended two week-long trainings on Nonviolent Communication
  9. October 20, 2011: Successfully defended my masters thesis
  10. September 7, 2012: Began meditating regularly every day for at least 20 minutes.
  11. December 18, 2012: First day of first 30-day retreat using Cheri Huber’s book Making a Change for Good – and almost every month since!
  12. January 5, 2013: Started Full Spectrum Improvisation training; finished this with a performance on February 9, 2014.
  13. January 8, 2013: First Absolute Beginning Tribal Belly Dance class taught by Stephanie Ann (first start April 24, 2012, which was interrupted due to health issues).
  14. August 31, 2013: First belly dance class at FatChanceBellyDance (through August 2014).
  15. September 11, 2014: Started to branch out to other forms of belly dance by studying with Monica Berini and Amanda.
  16. September 2015: Adding belly dance classes with Nancy Asiya who emphasizes improvisational style and breaks down moves in super helpful ways.
  17. January 12, 2016: Started a part-time position at UCSF
  18. March 12, 2016: My very first belly dance performance – at Rakkasah, no less
