While the Defense of Marriage Act – that heteronormative and sexist monstrosity that limits marriage and marriage-like unions artificially – might fall soon because the current administration does not support it anymore, it is good to see some judges questioning its constitutionality. In two cases, judges in the 9th circuit court of appeals ruled that denying same-sex spouses benefits using DOMA is unconstitutional (here is the legal journal that reported on this; a summary not requiring a subscription is here).
