Democracy at work…or not

Supposedly, our input counts at work. We can contribute to brainstorms. Yet the reality is a crass reminder that this is not true. Take, for example, a short discussion over our holiday event: someone proposed that we could all vote to decide which proposal to pick. That was overruled by the head of the department who, somewhat jokingly, explained that he reserves veto power. So much for a democratic work place…
