A Brief History of Disbelief

In 2005, Jonathan Miller’s documentary “A Rough History of Disbelief” aired on the BBC. It took 2 years before the history of atheism was shown in the US by select PBS stations as “A Brief History of Disbelief.” Some stations are showing it in 2008 but not all, so after emailing your PBS station asking for an airing, you can watch the 3-part series in smaller chunks on YouTube. Part 1 of Episode 1 starts out the series with a discussion about how to understand belief (follow the link below to go to a list of links to all parts). It’s well worth it, though! Miller’s journey through history is fascinating and gives us atheist a good historical grounding.
